About This Location

About Wild River Dog Park

Wild River is a staffed dog park on Riverside Road, Ballynahinch, with its own on-site cafe, Wild Coffee. It is busier and more social than most fields: as well as private hire, it runs social play sessions, puppy socialisation and breed meet-ups, and the park says 14,500 dogs visited in 2024.

Dogs that prefer their own space are catered for too. The Private Park is aimed at anxious dogs and those that do not enjoy other dogs, and there is a separate Small Dog Private Paddock. The Snifari Sensory Garden offers 30-minute one-to-one sniffing sessions.

Bark Park at Montalto Estate

Pay per visit (shared)
Ballynahinch, County Down

About the Bark Park at Montalto Estate The Bark Park opened in July 2024 inside the Trails & Gardens at Montalto Estate, just outside Ballynahinch, next to the children's adventure playpark. It is a fenced area where dogs can come off the lead, while elsewhere on the estate trails they must stay on leads. This is a shared space within a visitor attraction rather than a field you hire, so expect other dogs at busy times. It works best as part of a day out at the estate with a sociable dog. Access Entry is included with a standard Trails & Gardens ticket or a Montalto Membership, and the Bark Park follows the estate's opening times. Getting There Montalto Estate, Spa Road, Ballynahinch, BT24 8PT.

Ormeau Park Dog Park

Free public park
Belfast, County Down

About Ormeau Park Dog Park Belfast City Council opened this free dog park in Ormeau Park in February 2026, near the Indoor Tennis Centre and Ozone Complex. It is split into separate areas for small dogs and for medium to large dogs, with seating for owners. Some of the play features were upcycled from unused playground equipment, paid for by the council's Concert Social Levy. As a free public park it is shared with other dogs, so it suits sociable dogs better than reactive ones. Getting There Ormeau Park, Belfast, near the Indoor Tennis Centre and Ozone Complex.
